The Bosch Vivalytic CT/NG Test is an automated qualitative in-vitro diagnostic test for the DNA detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (CT/NG) to aid in the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections in symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals.

Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae are among the most common sexually transmitted pathogens. The number of new cases amounts to 129 million (CT) and 82 million (NG) per year worldwide (WHO figures for 2020). (1)

An infection often progresses without symptoms, which is problematic as those affected are not aware that they can infect others. If left untreated, these infections can lead to serious complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, pregnancy complications and an increased risk of HIV transmission. Therefore, it is important to get tested regularly for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae to ensure early diagnosis and treatment and to minimize the spread of infections.

With the Vivalytic CT/NG test, it is possible to test patients directly on site. As the results are available shortly after the sample is taken, treatment can be started immediately, which reduces the negative effects of an undetected infection. There is no need to transport samples to a specialist laboratory.

The Vivalytic Analyser automates complex, molecular diagnostic processes that previously had to be carried out manually. This promotes high safety and quick availability of the test results.
