FAQ

Vivalytic is a universal platform for molecular diagnostics, which enables various laboratory tests to be performed swiftly and in a fully automated manner. The platform unites a wide spectrum of tests with a varying number of clinically relevant parameters on one device.

The Vivalytic systems and the technologies that are used were developed in the research and advanced development departments at Bosch.

All common PCR procedures (detection methods) can be carried out: end-point PCR, quantitative real-time PCR, melting curve analysis, and microarray technology.

For Vivalytic, no other peripheral devices like laptop, keyboard, barcode scanner, or filling stations are required.

The portfolio is aimed at all laboratory customers – big and small. As well as being well-suited to large-scale labs and hospital laboratories, which will typically use the Vivalytic for lower throughput and back-up analyser applications, this platform will cater extremely well to small-scale premises. The Vivalytic’s ease-of-use and space-saving presentation make it ideal for local clinics and medical practices (Point of Care), where it can support quicker turnaround of sample testing for doctors.

Vivalytic will be produced entirely in Germany.

Bosch has designed Vivalytic to need as less maintenance as possible. Software updates will be provided with a cloud-based solution and be easily downloaded online.

No, the cartridges are a disposable product. Due to the potential contamination within the cartridges with samples that contain pathogens, reuse is not possible.

Bosch aims to provide environmentally sustainable products.

Vivalytic has been designed and developed as an all-in-one solution. Since there is no need for additional devices, e.g. systems for extraction amplification and data analysis, unnecessary waste is avoided. Efforts have been made to achieve a highly compact packaging design. Maximum utilization of space increases transport capacities, which in turn reduces CO2 consumption. Cooled storage and transportation are not needed resulting in a positive impact on overall CO2 consumption. Furthermore, the test cartridges are produced CO2-neutral.
